Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016)

Presented was an amalgam of the previous three 'Ghostbuster' movies. This appeared to be an attempt to merge elements of the first movies in order that this fourth movie could be produced. It also appears that some aspects from other films not in any way related to this series were incorporated to attempt to liven this film up more. The addition of ley lines appears to be done to pay homage to the many and varied locations the world over that have not been explained satisfactorily to any of the scientific communities. Hence, the unknown. People are curious about the unknown but when it comes to having to explain or adequately describe one, the result is usually met with derision and ridicule.

The film being produced during the Nazi occupation years by André Paulvé and directed by Marcel Carné leaves some stones not turned over but in spite of all things related to the weather, financing, and German ultimate control of film production. 'Les Visiteurs du Soir,' is a firm declaration that true love can survive in spite of any of the devil's attempts to refute any realism and transcendence of the love between two human souls.

A devil's envoy falls in love with Anne, a woman who is engaged to marry another man. Gilles has signed an agreement in blood with the devil to relinquish his soul and must therefore assist him in obtaining more souls. Dominique, also a devil's envoy, gets both Barons Renaud and Hugue to accept the love of herself, despite the fact that she is incapable of loving. Obtaining promises from both of them is enough.

I finally saw this documentary today, Sept. 25, 2012, as it was included as a backup feature on the fifth disc of the 2012 Blu-Ray five disc "Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures" release. I immediately bought it for under seventy dollars and I couldn't be happier. Buy the set. Go through the trials and tribulations and visit the locations the cast and crew had to meet and face daily while the film was being made. See why stunt people are needed and necessary for an adventure film to succeed. Fire, crashes, cast and crew get together to capture on film for present and future audiences the visions of story writers and a director to create a finished product that will only be known to be well done if movie theaters are filled with customers and critics are amazed as well.

A Truly Delightful Documentary

I concur with every review posted by users. I started viewing the 2-disc set after receiving it from DVDEmpire.com on the 14th of May 2010. I finished the whole thing on the 16th of May 2010. All 457 minutes of the feature documentary and bonus materials. It helped me get through the first couple of days following rotator cuff surgery of my right arm.

240 minutes on disc 1 and 217 minutes on disc 2. I viewed them with PowerDVD 10 and posted my comments to MoovieLive also.

I gave the documentary the highest rating I could give it and send my kudos to Heather Langenkamp for having the desire and wherewith-all to make this documentary happen with 1428 Films.

This coveted disc collection will always be at my beck and call to watch and listen to again and even pass down to my younger family members who may be curious or want to know all there is to know about "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and Freddy.

Exorcism: Driving Out the Devil (2006 TV Movie)

With few exceptions, I find this film filled with variety that reinforces some of the views, assumptions and assertions that many of the other films I have seen both fiction and documentary touch upon, re-assert and even dwell upon. We have the afflicted being exorcised by a Protestant Priest. We have the rivalry between who does the better exorcism and who is more successful between the Protestants and the Catholics. We have the revelation on whom the film "The Exorcist" may have had it's birth from. We have a review of the Salem Witch Hunt in brevity which beggars the question of why the one who is determined to be a witch must of essence be an emissary of Satan but could still be killed by man without an Exorcist? I found all of the chapters interesting but with some need of accreditation of the various Priests and Fathers who are portrayed throughout the film without actual identification.

I do have a question about a couple identified characters that I cannot with certainty place. The generic Father and the Priest Exorcist. In which of the 9 Chapters are they particular too? If anyone knows I would be truly appreciative as the DVD Credits don't identify them by the person who played the character as identified in the IMDb database.

I found the anthology rather interesting. I noticed on the cast listing for Ricohet, Episode 5 on the Tango Entertainment, Inc. release there was a query whether Kris Park aka Christopher Elsewhere was in any episode. He looked to me that he might be one of two people. He is either the one who steals the gun or is the one running from the place where Super Lotto tickets are sold and a having a gun fly from his hand as he is shot. I did notice the same handgun in two places. In the person's waistband before his partner that is driving the car backs away from the store on noticing the detectives and later when the gent runs out of the store. Are they the same person?

Night Train (1999)

I found 'Night Train' very compelling. It visualizes the human condition in a variety of aspects in a non-American locale, specifically Tijuana. A person, John Butcher, searches for a lost brother like a rampaging bull with eyes only for his goal. He has to find his brother. He has to know what happened regardless of whose feathers he ruffles. Like a bull, he is eventually disposed of after he finds a package containing money that is fervently sought by a Don Alamada. John won't live long enough to savor any of the fruits of his findings. John has tuberculosis, but he still intends to satisfy his own curiosity.

Oh, the surprises he finds in the box and the hotel!

The film contains memory sequences like those of a dream world and a number of gun and ax wielding sycophants. Bottom line: money is the root of all evil.

As one who is collecting the Veterans of Foreign Wars "Service with Honor DVD Collection," I learned today, 1-31-2009, that "Women At War" was part of the "Vietnam Soldier's Story" hosted by Jack Smith. I was in the military during this time, but never in Vietnam. I have always been interested in the operating area's history and concerns. I have "Last Chopper Out", "Under Siege At Khe Sanh", "Stories From The Wall", "Invisible Enemy", "Ambush: The Battle At Ia Drang", "War In The Skies", Tet: The Battle For Hearts And Minds", "From The River To The Sea" and "Secret War, Secret Men" to date. From what I can gather, there are more than six segments that are part of this ABC News Production for The Learning Channel. They all rate a "10" from me as they are all one of a kind.
